美国加州GeoTekEnergy公司制作出的原型转子发动机厚度为15.2cm,直径为30.4cm,其输出功率相当于一台1.5L发动机。这款名为DynaKinetic的发动机采用圆形发动机外罩,内置旋转活塞,也称为摇杆。该公司这样描述其新款转子发动机的工作原理:"随着摇杆围绕外部机械轴转动。每根机械轴上都有一个正齿轮与固定着的内齿圈耦合。正齿轮转动带动外部机械轴绕着内齿圈转动,最后引起转子旋转。
